The original lineup of The Specials (minus Jerry Dammers) will be coming to Australia for a brief tour at the end of July. At present, there are only two shows, but it is good news nonetheless. You'll want to get in quick for your tickets though, as their UK shows sold out in minutes.
Saturday July 25 @ Splendour in the Grass - Byron Bay
Monday July 27 @ The Enmore Theatre - Sydney
Tuesday July 28 @ The Enmore Theatre – Sydney
Thursday July 30 @ The Palace Theatre – Melbourne
Saturday August 1 @ The Logan Campbell Centre - Auckland

It's always the way, Perth gets missed out on a lot of tours. With the amount of English living in Perth, they'd be a sell out. 4me
How can they bill this as original Specials without Jerry Dammers.That would be like Madness touring without Suggsy.

I don't know that voicing your grievances on a Sydney-centric website will do much for the cause. I do sympathise with you in some respects, particularly as I am sure they would get a really good audience, but I'd probably move if the music was lacking. In fact, I did!

Terry Hall has always looked stone-faced, the deadpan look is his thing. Did the memory gather the same dust as the porkpie perhaps?

The Specials lived at the bottom of my road for many years and they were part of my growing up.
